/abalone spike - fresh water pearl necklace/

[the spine] plays with balance, tension, and connection. Two stainless steel chains sit at different lengths around the neck.

The upper row carries a single freshwater pearl, with small rutilated quartz chips placed along the chain, catching the light with quiet irregularity.

Below, the longer chain holds the weight of the piece... anchored by a natural abalone shard shaped into a tapered spine. The abalone spike is flanked by freshwater pearls, each held between ornate vintage metal spacers.

On either side of the neckline, round metal connectors set with grey zirconia crystals link the two rows, acting as anchor points between the layers.

Contrasting chain types move through the necklace: open-link sections transition into finer, more delicate chain, creating shifts in weight and rhythm as the piece follows the body.

This piece combines shell, stone, pearls, and metal. To preserve your piece:

  • Avoid contact with perfume, lotions, body oils and harsh chemicals
  • Store separately in a soft pouch or cloth to prevent scratching
  • Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing

  • Returns

    Each AKULA piece is made as a one-of-one, using natural or sustainably sourced materials and hand assembly. For this reason, returns are not accepted for change of mind.

    If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or breaks due to a workmanship issue, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photographs so we can assess the issue promptly.

    In these cases, we will cover the cost of return shipping. Once received, the piece will be repaired where possible and restored to its intended condition. The item will then be shipped back to you free of charge within one week.
